CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Faith In Action
What:  Many opportunities are for 18 and older; however, check out their Volunteer Opportunities on their website. All high school ages can help Saturday Raking Days in November. Each group must have a parent or responsible party present. Services are for those 60 and older living in Bloomington, Normal, Heyworth, Hudson or Towanda. Volunteers are used to provide direct service to seniors. In addition, volunteers also help with service coordination, fund raising, etc.

Holy Trinity Garden 
What:  The Holy Trinity Garden needs your help! The Garden is on the grounds of the old Central Catholic School across the street from Holy Trinity Church. They need volunteers to plant, weed, maintain and harvest the garden throughout the growing season. THe food that is grown is donated to the St' Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
Where:  Holy Trinity Garden
When:  The schedule will vary due to weather, so students should register by e-mail and look for updates on when the group will meet each week.

KidSpot - 
St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna 
What:  KidSpot was designed with 3, 4 and 5 years old in mind.  It is Lectionary-based, age appropriate, hands on, community building program.  Give a child the opportunity to make "church friends" and experience the Gospel story through creative drama, music, art activities, games and so much more!  You can volunteer for every other Sunday or help set up on Thursdays.  This is a great opportunity to give back to your parish!

When:  During the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses or Set-up on Thursdays (30 min)

Nursery - 
St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna 
What:  St. Patrick's is looking for assistance with their Nursery during the 11:00 am Sunday Mass.  You will be volunteering once a month.  If you are 18 years old or older, you must complete the Protecting God's Children to help out.

Holy Trinity - St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
What:  Help with the mobile food pantry of the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry that operates out of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  You will help load 2 vans with food and then deliver the food to the residents of the Phoenix Towers.  These hours will count toward the Fall of 2106. 
Where:  St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at Holy Trinity Parish Hall (South End)
When:  2nd Tuesday of each month beginning at 3:00 PM

Epiphany Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLoW)
What:  
Epiphany Children’s liturgy of the Word needs teen volunteers!  We hold CLoW during the 9:00 am Mass.  Volunteering is fun and easy.  Children’s Liturgy of the Word allows all participants (kids and leaders) to fully participate in Mass so there is no worry that you are missing Mass to attend CLoW.  They are looking for people willing to commit to one Sunday per month.

Holy Trinity Catholic Church Sunday Mass Nursery

What: 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church is looking for assistance with their Nursery during the 10:00 am Sunday Mass.  If you are 18 years old or older, you must complete the Protecting God's Children to help out.

When:  Sundays during the 10 am Mass

Bickford House
What: 
​Assist residents with dinner and other duties / Only 2 per night and you sign up with your Theology teacher

Where: Bickford House Assisted Living
When: Weekdays from 4-7pm / No weekends

McLean County Nursing Home
What: 
​Assist residents with different activities.  Especially good for anyone interested in going into Nursing.  You would get a chance to work 1:1 with the residents.
