This is my 28th year teaching at CCHS. Prior to teaching at CCHS, I taught for ten years in two different public school districts in Kansas. My husband's change of jobs brought us to central Illinois in late 1987; my first year teaching at CCHS was 1988-1989.
We have become ardent Saint fans over the last two decades. Both of our children are graduates of CCHS-Jessica in 2007 and Jared in 2009.
I received a B.S. in English and Journalism education from Kansas State University. I also have an additional forty graduate hours in curriculum and instruction, also from KSU. I am a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the Illinois Association of Teachers of English, and Phi Delta Kappa. I have been the English department chair at CCHS for 27 years and have served on a variety of language arts curriculum groups in both Illinois and Kansas. I also have participated in the summer True Learning Workshops sponsored by the Illinois Humanities Council as well as the Moveable Feast sponsored by District 87.
