Study Skills

Link to Daily Schedule

Homework due the next day should be completed at home the night before. For example, a math assignment given on Monday, should be finished on Monday. Students should not plan on 1st hour Study Skills as a time to do homework assigned from the day before.

STUDY SKILLS CLASS TIME WILL FOCUS ON PREPARING FOR QUIZZES/TESTS & WRITING PAPERS, AS WELL AS ORGANIZING AND BREAKING DOWN LONG-TERM ASSIGNMENTS INTO MANAGEABLE CHUNKS. Students will regularly check teachers' websites for upcoming assignments/links and Skyward.

Grading Policy for Study Skills

Daily grades will be based on the following criteria:

1 point materials--prepared for class with computer, planner & homework for classes. Often we will work on an assignment for another class (ex. Theology Faith Experiences Paper) incorporating study skills to complete the assignment. Students should bring other homework as well. Whenever possible, the assignment to be worked on will be posted on my Daily Schedule.

1 point completed agenda--agenda should be filled out with the previous day's assignments.

1 point behavior--appropriate classroom behavior

2 points work completion--showing progress on assignment(s) worked on during the Study Skills class period. Following directions for each assignment is key!

The students in this class are amazing--off to a great start!
